Description: I decided to share this art diptych instead of my usual street photography. The theme of hope is very personal to me, because it’s exactly what brought me into photography — in my images I always try to carry a small spark of hope. Hope that this world is not entirely doomed yet.

In this particular diptych, I explore the drama and the inner world of the character.

On one side, he is surrounded by frames and encroaching darkness. Within the theme of “hope” and the struggle against circumstances, this becomes a metaphor: anyone forced to fight for their life is inevitably placed into certain boundaries — boundaries set by society. They are no longer “like everyone else.”

On the other side, there is a metaphor of life’s dualism. You see a vivid, striking figure, yet you have no idea what may lie behind that façade. The shadow becomes a symbol of the inner struggle a person carries within. A struggle for life, for example.
